ARTISTS’ ARCHIVES: DOCUMENTS AND DOMICILES OF ARTISTIC PRACTICES

08/11/2024, 9.30 – 13.00
VALIE EXPORT Center Linz

In the field of contemporary art, modes of artistic production and archival processes overlap. More and more artists are creating archives of their own working processes. The workshop seeks to pursue a discussion on the histories and practices of artists’ archives. The investigation engages with the manifold aesthetic, epistemic, and affective relationships that evolve from non-institutional practices of archiving.

Bringing together curators Julia Heunemann, Franziska Schmidt, Darko Šimicic, Nathalie Hoyos and Rainald Schumacher, the workshop inititiates a discussion on curatorial practices and artists’ archives.
