Biography
Megan Hoetger (PhD) is an independent performance and media historian based in Amsterdam. From 2019-2024 she was a program curator with the arts organization If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution where she worked with a range of artists and researchers to develop projects at the intersections of performance, politics, and archival practices. Across her curatorial and scholarly work, Hoetger investigates distribution infrastructures for time-based art, specifically in the context of (post-)Cold War internationalisms. She has carried out extensive archival work on filmmakers’ cooperatives and underground screening events in 1960s and 70s Europe.
